As CTO, Ghimire will lead the technology team at Kantipur Neo and oversee projects end-to-end, working closely with KMG's editorial teams to understand their needs, streamline workflows, and build tools that support more effective reporting. He will remain hands-on, contributing to coding and technical problem-solving, while driving a broader culture of innovation across the organization.

Ghimire brings over a decade of experience building and scaling large-scale digital platforms across news media and sports technology. He has a deep track record in high-traffic news products, from complex content management systems to advanced television “magic wall” systems used in sports analysis, as well as in election reporting tools and live scoring systems.

He also pioneered fantasy sports initiatives in Nepal, establishing himself as one of the more innovative builders in the country’s media technology space. Over his career, Ghimire has worked across the full spectrum of newsroom infrastructure, with a consistent focus on performance, reliability, and seamless content delivery at scale. He is returning to Kantipur after a year and a half in the United States, where he pursued his master’s degree.

“We are at an exciting inflection point in KMG’s transformation. AI is no longer just a tool for efficiency — we are thinking seriously about how it can deepen audience engagement and reshape how we tell stories,” said Anup Kaphle, Group Editorial Director of Kantipur Media Group. “Ritesh’s deep institutional knowledge of Kantipur and The Kathmandu Post’s technology infrastructure, and his proven ability to engineer creative solutions to complex problems, make him exactly the right person to help our organization move boldly into that future.”

“Ritesh understands both the technical demands of a modern media organization and the editorial instincts required to serve audiences well — that combination is exactly what KMG needs at this stage of its growth,” said Rohit Tiwari, CEO of Kantipur Neo.

“The way audiences consume media is shifting faster than ever, and news organizations that fail to keep pace risk losing them entirely,” said Ghimire. “My goal is to ensure KMG not only keeps up with that change but helps define what modern media technology looks like in Nepal.”

Ghimire will report directly to the Group Editorial Director.
